Mubarak Mandi

Located in old part of Jammu city, Mubarak Mandi was once a grand palace of the Dogra kings. Now crumbling, at many places, some efforts are on to restore it. Built by successive Dogra rulers, one king conceived and added one part, while another portion was added during the reign of another king. It combines different architectural styles. Dogra Art Gallery, Rani Charak Palace, Durbar Hall, Royal Court buildings are some prominent portions. The Hawa Mahal is yet another great architectural marvel, worth visiting. At Dogra Art Gallery have been housed some rare miniature paintings of Basohli school as also Kangra school of art.
Till about a decade ago, it housed the Jammu & Kashmir High Court and many offices. The offices have moved out to other locations.
