Top tourist destination

Beauty of Deodars: Patnitop is arguably the top tourist destination of the Jammu region. Located on Jammu-Srinagar national highway, 110 km from Jammu, it is used mostly as a halting point. It is worth spending a couple of days though. Enough hotels, tourist huts, guest houses of government departments offer a wide variety.
It can be used as a base for exploring Sansasar, enchanting meadow, 19 km from Patnitop, Batote, 8 km downhill and Kud, a small village short of Patnitop. Apple orchards of Batote are a delight as are views from atop Nathatop, on way to Sanasar. It can be reached around the year and the dense Deodar forests offer cool shade, the temperature being several degrees below Jammu or Katra towns.

How to reach: It is located 110 km from Jammu, and it takes three hours to reach this wonderful place.

By rail: Udhampur, 45 km away, is the nearest railway station.
Airport: Jammu Satwari airport is 115 km from Patnitop.
