Letter from CHRI to J&K CM on RTI

The former Chief Information Commissioner, Mr Wajahat Habibllah, has expressed concern over the implementation of J&K RTI Act, 2009, to the Chief Minister, Ms Mehbbooba Mufti. He wrote a letter some days ago to the CM raising some important issues. His letter focused on following issues relating to the effective implementation of the J&K Right to Information Act, 2009:

1) Filling up the vacant posts of the State Chief Information Commissioner and State Information Commissioner through a transparent and participatory process;

2) Restoring the RTI Rules of 2010 in consultation with all stakeholders; and

3) Including RTI in the curriculum of schools and colleges in J&K.
