BJP Rajouri presents Trianga to facilitate Shanti Devi New J&K has deep roots in Praja Parishad, Mukherjee’s Movement: Vibodh
BJP senior leader Vibodh Gupta along with other senior party leaders and prominent citizens met Shanti Devi and sought her blessings. Shanti Devi, participated in Praja Parishad Movement and also suffered arrest but continued her fight for- Ek Vidhan, Ek Pradhan Aur EK Nishaan. BJP unit facilitated her by presenting a Shawl and a Tiranga.
Remembering her days of struggle, Shanti Devi told that her son was just four months old when she was arrested. She also narrated stories of untold sacrifices that people gave to see one united India. She expressed her happiness on the abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35A and gave her blessings to Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi and J&K BJP unit.
During his meet with her , Vibodh said that the foundation of New J&K has deep roots in the Praja Parishad movement. He said this is the day to remember those great people who laid down their lives to realise the dream of Ek Vidhan, Ek Savidaan Aur Ek Nishaan. “The day reminds us of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhaya, Pt. Prem Nath Dogra and many other great people who gave supreme sacrifices to unite India as one strong nation”, Vibodh added. He said, “Shanti Devi is one of them who suffered extreme pains but never gave up the struggle for peace and tranquillity in J&K.” He expressed distress by acknowledging that her son was just four months old when she was arrested and said that we can’t imagine the degree of pain that these leaders underwent. He said it was an honour to facilitate her by presenting a Shawl and Tiranga.
On this occasion, BJP District President Dinesh Sharma also greeted Shanti Devi and nation on the scrapping of Article 370. He highlighted various stories of sacrifices that people gave to realise this dream. He appealed workers to interact with local people regularly so that no rumours could be spread by hate mongers. Vice-President Municipal Committee Rajouri Bharat Bhushan Vaid also sought the blessings of Shanti Devi and lauded Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi and Hon’ble HM Amit Shah.
